Hey, RotoBallers! We are a few days away from the All-Star break, and it's time to start preparing for the second half of the season. The second half of the season begins next Friday, and there are only a few months left in the year. With that being said, it's time for another rankings check-in. We are back with another edition of Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of July 11, 2024.
These rankings are released in early July, as Nick provides his rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. We are following many interesting storylines closely, all baked into these updated rankings, and you can see them below. Let's see where players such as Jose Ramirez, James Wood, Shane Baz, Matt McLain, Kyle Tucker, Jose Miranda, Colt Keith, Bo Bichette, Lars Nootbaar, Brenton Doyle, and Rece Hinds currently rank. All of them have been performing well recently, struggling or returning from injury soon in 2024.
Some players are off to a terrific start in the first half so far, while some have struggled mightily. Which of these trends do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 17 Notes
We recently saw top prospects such as James Wood, Shane Baz, Rece Hinds, Hunter Bigge, and Brooks Lee promoted to the big leagues.
Lee was promoted to the majors when the Twins placed Royce Lewis on the injured list with a right adductor strain. Since being promoted, Lee has been on fire to start his MLB career, slashing .364/.371/.576 with two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs in his first eight big league games. Hinds made his MLB debut on July 8 and is hitting .500 (6-for-12) with two home runs, four RBI, and a stole base over his first 12 big league plate appearances.
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is having another terrific season for fantasy managers in 2024. Overall, Ramirez has been a top-5 in fantasy baseball, slashing .275/.330/.530 with 23 home runs, 77 RBI, 70 runs, and 18 stolen bases over 88 games. Minnesota Twins third baseman Jose Miranda tied an MLB record by recording a hit in 12 straight at-bats. The 26-year-old has bounced back this year after an abysmal 2023 (.211/.263/.303 slash line) campaign. Miranda is slashing .325/.366/.522 with a .888 OPS over 276 plate appearances in 2024.
Injuries continue to pile up. Arizona Diamondbacks top prospect Jordan Lawlar will be out 6 to 8 weeks after recently aggravating his strained left hamstring. Los Angeles Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow was placed on the injured list with lower back tightness. Yordan Alvarez, Bo Bichette, Daulton Varsho, Cody Bellinger, Gabriel Moreno, Jorge Soler, Zack Wheeler, and Oneil Cruz are day-to-day with injuries.
Reinforcements are coming. Cincinnati Reds outfielder TJ Friedl could be activated from the injured list shortly after the All-Star break after missing time due to a strained right hamstring. Speaking of Reds, infielder Matt McLain is swinging a bat and could begin a rehab assignment in mid-August. Tampa Bay Rays Jeffrey Springs completed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday and is on track to return from the injured list in late July. New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton might skip rehab games and return shortly to the team right after the All-Star break.
Some notable performances include Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle. The 26-year-old has been on absolute fire lately, slashing .533/.622/.1.300 with six home runs, 12 RBI, and a stolen base over his last nine games. Speaking of blistering recent performances, Detroit Tigers infielder Colt Keith is slashing .382/.447/.853 with four home runs, eight RBI, 10 runs, and a stolen base over 38 plate appearances. Chicago White Sox rookie right-hander Drew Thorpe notched his fourth straight quality start and has posted a 1.85 ERA, 0.74 WHIP, and a 15:8 K: BB during that span.
Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 17 Updates
These rankings will be updated weekly throughout the season, so some situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, either, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
