Welcome back, RotoBallers! We are about three weeks into the MLB regular season. It's time for another rankings check-in. Below is another edition of Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of April 11, 2024. These rankings are being released in April and are looking at rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. There are many interesting storylines we are following closely, all baked into these updated rankings.
We have recently seen top prospects such as Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday and Houston Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti get the call to the big leagues. Holliday made his MLB debut on Wednesday and has yet to log his first big- league hit in two games. Arrighetti, Houston's No. 3 prospect, also made his debut on Wednesday but was lit up for seven earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three in three innings. At the same time, fantasy managers patiently wait for the call-up of Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood, who homered twice on Wednesday and is slashing .441/.558/.794 with two home runs, four RBI, 12 runs, and two stolen bases over 43 plate appearances with Triple-A Rochester.
With Spencer Strider (elbow) on the injured list, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow could arguably be fantasy baseball's No. 1 pitcher in 2024 as long as he can avoid the injured list. The 30-year-old (3-0) has a 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, and a 29:7 K: BB across 24 innings. Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes is right up there with Glasnow in the top of the pitcher rankings and has been excellent for his new team. Burnes owns a (2-0) record with a 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, and a 20:2 K: BB over 18 2/3 innings.

Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings Updates
Injuries continue to pile up, especially for pitchers. Atlanta Braves ace Spencer Strider underwent surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow and will miss the rest of the season. Cleveland Guardians ace Shane Bieber needs Tommy John surgery and will be sidelined for the season. Houston Astros left-hander Framber Valdez was placed on the injured list with elbow inflammation. Other vital injuries include Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr., who is out 6-8 weeks with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain. Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks with a broken right wrist. Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe is set to miss time with a Grade 1 right oblique strain. At the same time, Boston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a fractured glenoid in his left shoulder.
Reinforcements are coming, as St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar has been cleared to return Friday after missing the start of the season due to suffering two fractured ribs during a spring training game. Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Friday and could return to action soon. Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez could return this weekend from a thigh issue.
Some notable performances include Houston Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco becoming the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 2024. Blanco tossed a no-hitter on April 1 in a win over the Blue Jays. The 30-year-old has yet to allow a run over 15 innings and owns a 0.47 WHIP with an 11:6 K: BB. Boston Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill is off to a blistering start, crushing six home runs in April so far, tying Mike Trout for the league lead. Tampa Bay Rays infielder Jose Caballero crushed his first homer of the season on Wednesday and has been red hot to start the year, slashing .351/.375/.514 across 41 plate appearances. Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Blaze Alexander also homered on Wednesday and is off to a fast start, hitting .345 (10-for-29) with two home runs, four RBI, five runs, and a stolen base over 10 games.
Some players are off to a terrific start, while some have struggled mightily to start the year. Which of these starts do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records?
Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward. Let's see where players such as Jackson Holliday, Ronel Blanco, Jose Caballero, Blaze Alexander, Mason Miller, Wyatt Langford, Riley Greene, Tyler O'Neill, and Jared Jones rank, all of who are off to interesting starts in 2024.
Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings (Week 3 Update)
These rankings will be updated every week throughout the season, so some of these situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, either, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
