4 days agoGolden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Kuminga was forced to exit in the middle of the second quarter after suffering a right ankle injury. The expectation is Kuminga will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. For now, fantasy managers should consider Kuminga as day-to-day, but they should get an update on his status soon. Gui Santos and Buddy Hield should both benefit with more playing time with Kuminga not returning on Sunday.Source: Warriors
4 days agoLos Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (groin) is listed as probable ahead of Monday's game against the Houston Rockets. James has played in five straight games following a seven-game absence. He has been a regular on the injury report, but James usually does play. He doesn't appear to be impacted on the court by this groin issue, so fantasy managers should expect James to be out there. Fantasy managers should double check ahead of tip-off just in case something happens pre-game.Source: NBA Injury Report

4 days agoFormer Arizona Cardinals linebacker Victor Dimukeje has signed a one-year, $1.33 million deal with the New York Giants. The 25-year-old spent the last four years with Arizona after the team selected him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Dimukeje has recorded 67 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass defensed across his first four seasons. While he has chalked up just eight starts in his career, the Duke alum has played at least 65% of Arizona's special teams snaps since 2022. He'll provide the Giants with a depth piece and special teams contributor in 2025. Dimukeje joins teammates Chris Board and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles as new acquisitions in the Giants' linebacker room.Source: Matt Citak
4 days agoDallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer still believes the team will reach a long-term deal with pass-rusher Micah Parsons. "Micah has said all along that he plans on being there...There's a lot of factors that go into a deal," Schottenheimer said on Sunday at the Annual League Meeting. "Again, my conversations with Micah have been great, and I think he's in a good spot." Dallas has made a habit of prolonging the extensions of their stars, but Schottenheimer doesn't want the offseason to be a distraction. It would behoove the Cowboys to lock up Parsons sooner than later, as he's already proven to be an elite game-wrecker, racking up at least 12 sacks in each of his first four seasons. Whether a deal gets done remains to be seen, but hearing that Schottenheimer is optimistic is encouraging for Parsons' prospects as a Cowboy.Source: Christian Gonzales
4 days agoAthletics first baseman Tyler Soderstrom continued to show off his power during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Soderstrom opened up the scoring with a solo home run off right-hander Bryan Woo in the fourth inning. Sadly, the A's offense couldn't do anything else as they ended up dropping this game 2-1 to Seattle. Soderstrom finished 2-for-3 with a single and a walk as well. The 23-year-old is hitting .467 with three homers and four RBI through the first four games of the season. Soderstrom could be worth a look in most fantasy formats while he's hot at the plate.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Luke Jackson was called upon to protect a one-run lead against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. It wasn't easy, as Jackson allowed a double and a walk, but he was able to work out of the jam. He struck out Alex Bregman to end the game and earned his second save of the season. It was unclear who would be the closer heading into the season, but it appears Jackson is the favorite right now. He has worked in three of the first four games of the season. That being said, it wouldn't be shocking to see Jackson unavailable on Monday. If that happens, Chris Martin or Marc Church could be asked to take the mound in his absence if a save situation arises.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom made his season debut against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said ahead of time that deGrom would be limited to around 75 pitches in this game. Despite that, deGrom gave fantasy managers a strong outing on Sunday. He tossed five scoreless innings, allowing two hits, and striking out six batters in the win over Boston. This was a great start to the season for deGrom, but the key is keeping him healthy. That being said, fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if the team continues to ease deGrom into things early in the season.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoWashington Nationals first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is off to an impressive start to the season. On Sunday, Lowe went 3-for-4 including a two-run home run in the victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Lowe helped give the Nats a five-run lead with his sixth inning blast off right-hander Aaron Nola. After this game, Lowe is 6-for-13 with two homers and five RBI in three games. Lowe isn't a must-have fantasy option, but could be worth a look in 12-team formats while he's hot at the plate. The expectation is he'll play everyday and bat in the middle of the Nats order.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Mitchell Parker looked impressive on the mound during Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Parker went 6 1/3 scoreless innings while allowing seven hits and striking out five batters in the win. The 25-year-old was excellent on the mound at home last year, but Parker got crushed whenever he was on the road. The hope is that Parker can take a step forward this season. His next start is against the Arizona Diamondbacks at home next weekend. Parker could be worth a look as a streaming option given he posted a 2.65 ERA at home in 2024.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner (back) is not expected to return to the starting lineup until Wednesday, according to manager Rob Thompson. Turner missed his second straight game on Sunday due to back spasms. The organization plans to rest him again on Monday before the team has an off day on Tuesday. That would give Turner four days of rest before likely getting back into the lineup on Wednesday. The expectation is that Edmundo Sosa will continue start at shortstop until Turner is back. Sosa could have some short term fantasy value, but might not be worth adding with Turner possibly returning on Wednesday.Source: Corey Seidman
4 days agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (foot) is expected to return to the starting lineup on Monday, according to manager Rob Thompson. Realmuto was forced to exit early during Saturday's game due to a left foot contusion. As a result, Realmuto missed Sunday's game, but it doesn't sound like he'll miss more time than that. Rafael Marchan started behind the plate on Sunday and went 1-for-4 at the plate in the loss. Fantasy managers should be able to get Realmuto back into their lineups on Monday.Source: Corey Seidman
4 days agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson set up three goals in Sunday's 4-2 road win against the Florida Panthers. He helped out Patrik Laine and Juraj Slafkovsky in power-play situations and bagged an even-strength assist when Nick Suzuki scored the game-winning tally. This marks Hutson's 14th multi-assist game of the season, tying him with Larry Murphy for the second most in a season by a rookie defenseman in NHL history. Chris Chelios holds the all-time record with 16. Hutson has nine more games to catch him. The 21-year-old is also aiming to break Chelios' franchise record for the most points scored by a rookie defenseman, which stands at 64 points. Hutson has accumulated 59 points (five goals, 54 assists) in 73 appearances.Source: ESPN
4 days agoAtlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (Achilles) will play on Sunday against the Bucks. The Achilles issue has plagued him nearly the entire year. However, he hasn't missed a game in weeks, so fantasy managers weren't concerned about his availability for this one. Young has averaged 26.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in four meetings with Milwaukee this season. Unfortunately, he's shot a rough 21.4% from deep during those contests.Source: Atlanta Hawks
4 days agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (forearm) will play on Sunday versus the Knicks. He was on the Injury report due to forearm soreness, so fantasy managers had a feeling he'd be good to go for this one. While his absence likely would have resulted in a start for Dalano Banton, the latter could remain involved with Scoot Henderson (concussion) sidelined.Source: Trail Blazers
4 days agoMilwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (foot) will play on Sunday versus Atlanta. It's common to see him listed on the Injury Report for one reason or another. But this time, he made an appearance due to a sprained left foot. Yet, it won't be enough to keep Antetokounmpo off the floor. With that said, the multi-time All-Star has averaged 29.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals in three meetings with the Hawks this season. While he's always a must-start in any redraft format, his DFS value is higher on Sunday, especially with Damian Lillard (illness) sidelined.Source: Milwaukee Bucks
4 days agoMontreal Canadiens center Nick Suzuki added three points to his tally in Sunday's surprising 4-2 victory against the Florida Panthers. The Canadiens captain recorded a pair of power-play assists and potted the game-winning goal early in the third period. This marks the seventh time Suzuki has posted at least three points in a single game this season. Four of these instances have occurred since late February, as Suzuki is finishing the campaign strong. He has matched his offensive output from last year with 77 points (22 goals, 52 assists) in 73 appearances and will go after his new scoring record when the Canadiens and Panthers meet up for a rematch in Montreal on Tuesday night.Source: ESPN
4 days agoAnaheim Ducks forward Robby Fabbri (hand) is likely done for the season. He has not played since Feb. 25 due to a hand injury, missing 15 contests. His last appearance against the Buffalo Sabres might end up being his final game for the Ducks, as Fabbri is poised to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He is coming off a three-year, $12 million contract. Unfortunately, Fabbri has struggled with injuries throughout the duration of the deal, making only 140 appearances over three seasons. He will conclude the 2024-25 campaign with eight goals and 16 points in 44 games.Source: Andrew Knoll
4 days agoAnaheim Ducks defenseman Jacob Trouba (undisclosed) could remain in the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was hurt in Friday's win over the New York Rangers and did not practice on Saturday. However, a team source has told Derek Lee of The Hockey News that Trouba is "in consideration to play" against Toronto. Since arriving from the Rangers, Trouba has registered eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 47 games with the Ducks. He has also racked up 124 blocks and 117 hits. If Trouba cannot play, Oliver Kylington is expected to come into the lineup on the second defensive pairing.Source: Derek Lee
4 days agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) stated his recovery is "going well," adding he's been given the green light to participate in basketball activities. The 28-year-old expects to be ready for the postseason, although he hopes to return before the end of the regular season. Brunson has averaged 26.3 points and 7.4 assists throughout the 2024-25 campaign. Unfortunately, he suffered a sprained ankle nearly a month ago in a loss to the Lakers. While he remains on the shelf, Miles McBride (groin) should stay atop the depth chart. Yet, with McBride and Cameron Payne (ankle) both sidelined, Delon Wright could find himself in the starting lineup, with Landry Shamet and Tyler Kolek coming in for relief.Source: Ian Begley
4 days agoCarolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (lower body) will not be in action on Sunday against the New York islanders. He has been ruled out with a lower-body injury, sitting out for the second time in five games. Tyson Jost will be inserted back into the lineup as Staal's replacement. He will skate on the fourth line and does not have any fantasy value. Jesperi Kotkaniemi will start the game as the third-line center, with Jack Roslovic centering the second line. Staal will get some good recovery time after Sunday's action, as Carolina is not scheduled to play until Wednesday.Source: Carolina Hurricanes PR
4 days agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (calf) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Machado made an early exit on Saturday due to calf tightness, but he appears to be ready now. He'll cover third base and bat third against right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver. Machado started off the season with two hits, but has been hitless since then. Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned about Machado considering he hit nearly 30 homers and knocked in over 100 runs last season. Fantasy managers can safely get Machado back in their lineups on Sunday.Source: Jeff Sanders
4 days agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant (knee) won't play on Sunday versus the Knicks. He's already missed nine-straight contests. But the Trail Blazers aren't expected to make the Play-In, so it's tough to say if Grant will be back on the floor at some point before the end of the season. With Anfernee Simons (forearm) questionable and Scoot Henderson (concussion) out, Toumani Camara, Shaedon Sharpe, and Deni Avdija could be more productive than usual. Dalano Banton may also see a healthy uptick in work, giving him added value for fantasy managers.Source: Casey Holdahl
4 days agoPittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (upper body) will remain sidelined for Sunday's matchup against the Ottawa Senators. He continues to recover from an upper-body injury, missing a third consecutive game. Kevin Hayes has stepped in as the second-line center in place of Malkin, but Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan has opted to switch things up for Sunday's game, with Rickard Rakell set to take over that role. Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust will be joined on the first line by Rutger McGroarty, who will make his first appearance in the big league since October.Source: Josh Getzoff
4 days agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Taj Bradley looked solid on the mound during Sunday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The 24-year-old struck out seven batters while allowing two earned runs on seven hits across six innings of work. The biggest issue for Bradley has been his control and he seemed to hitting his spots on Sunday. The Rockies lineup isn't exactly stacked with talent, so we'll see how Bradley does during his next start against the Texas Rangers. Bradley isn't an elite fantasy option, but he's worth rostering in most 12-team standard formats right now.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Ryan Walker (back) was unavailable to take the mound during Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Instead, Camilo Doval was called upon to hold a three-run lead in the ninth inning. Doval did a nice job as he tossed a scoreless inning and recorded one strikeout for his first save of the season. Manager Bob Melvin said Walker is dealing with back tightness, but it's believed to be a minor issue. The expectation is that Walker will be ready to go within the next few days. Fantasy managers should monitor this situation. Doval would be worth adding if Walker does end up missing some time.Source: Alex Pavlovic
4 days agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval was asked to take the ball with a three-run lead during Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Normally, Ryan Walker (back) would be used in this spot, but he was unavailable for this game. Doval made easy work of the Reds as he tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Doval used to be the primary closer in San Francisco, but now Walker has taken over that role. Doval will likely see occasional save chances, but it sounds like Walker will be available on Monday. That being said, Doval isn't worth adding in most fantasy formats with Walker around.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoDetroit Pistons forward Tobias Harris (Achilles) is expected to play on Sunday night against Minnesota. The veteran has averaged 13.8 points and 6.1 rebounds this season, both down from the 2023-24 campaign. However, he's appeared in 69 games. Harris didn't suit up for Friday's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, opening the door for Tim Hardaway Jr. to enter the starting lineup. While Harris' anticipated availability should mean fewer scoring opportunities for Hardaway and others, the expected absence of Cade Cunningham (calf) should keep everyone more involved than usual.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos is off to a nice start to begin the 2025 season. On Sunday, Ramos went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the win over the Cincinnati Reds. The 25-year-old took right-hander Nick Martinez deep in the fifth inning to mark his second homer in three games. Ramos is coming off a solid season in 2024 and is looking to build on it this year. He already has two homers and four RBI, so fantasy managers might want to make sure Ramos isn't sitting around on the waiver wire.Source: mlb.com
4 days agoNew York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn believes quarterback Justin Fields is poised for a solid season in New York. "I just think he's ready to break out as a top-notch quarterback," said Glenn of the Ohio State product. "He has a quiet confidence about himself." At present, Fields will get a chance to prove himself as a starter yet again in 2025. Unless the Jets add competition at the position in the draft, the 26-year-old is set to be the franchise's signal-caller. Fields went 4-2 as a starter in Pittsburgh last season but was replaced by Russell Wilson despite respectable on-field performance. This year, he doesn't project to have competition breathing down his neck, but Fields' evolution as a quarterback remains to be seen. This may be the season it all comes together for him, but his rushing upside should keep him in the conversation of a viable fantasy starter while he's manning the offense.Source: Christian Gonzales
