Byron Buxton Can't Be Caught
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is on a run of 32 straight successful stolen base attempts, including three in 2019. It's the longest run in Twins history and the longest in the big leagues in almost seven years. The last time Buxton was thrown out stealing was on May 24 of 2017. Vince Coleman holds the major league record with 50 straight successful attempts. The 25-year-old Buxton has a 97.4 percent success rate on steals since 2017, which is the best in the bigs. His 90.7 percent success rate for his career is also the highest in history. Buxton has been a disappointing fantasy commodity as a former top prospect, but his combination of power and elite speed makes him one to be patient on.
