Byron Buxton Bulks Up
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton added 21 pounds of muscle to his skinny frame in the offseason during an extra long winter workout schedule. He believes that the added muscle will keep him healthy in 2019. A former top prospect, Buxton has been a bust in the big leagues due to injuries and ineffectiveness, and he played in just 28 big league games in 2018 due to migraines, a broken toe and strained wrist. He won't turn 26 until December, though, and still has plenty of upside because of his speed mostly. Buxton is a borderline deep mixed asset, but he's worth a late-round flier in hopes that he can stay healthy for a full season.
