MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/18/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Freddie Freeman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, MLB News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on June 18, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have a big 10-game slate on tap for today on both sites. You get a pinch hitter for a couple of days this week. I'm filling in for your regular Tuesday and Thursday starter, Euan. I'll try and give my best Lenny Harris impression and lead us to money!

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tanner Houck at TOR ($10.3K DraftKings; $11K FanDuel)

Houck isn't your usual five-figure pitcher, but this slate is light on pitching options. He doesn't strike out a batter per inning like most elite pitchers, but the 2.08 ERA and 0.95 WHIP are elite. The 7-5 record leaves much to be desired, but that's not his fault. This tells me all I need to know:

Houck is succeeding this year because of an elite walk rate and a very low launch angle. He induces a lot of ground balls that aren't hit particularly hard. This level of success is sustainable, proven by his xERA being very good in its own right. Houck won't have an ERA this low all season, but he's not a pitcher who is going to be prone to a blow-up either. Toronto is a solid team, but I just trust Houck more... especially given the park upgrade north of the border.

Luis Severino at TEX ($8.3K DraftKings; $9K FanDuel)

The lack of strikeouts makes Severino a tough one to roster on FanDuel. However, the Rangers have only scored 17 runs in the last week and are locked into a four-game losing streak. The Mets punished them with 14 runs last night and David Peterson shut the offense down. Severino is a right-handed Peterson right now since he doesn't pile up strikeouts. What Severino does is limit damage. He has only allowed two runs over 14 innings in his last two starts.

Alec Marsh at OAK ($7.6K DraftKings; $8.8K FanDuel)

Marsh turned heads last week when he held the Yankees to just one hit in seven scoreless innings. Marsh also has 15 strikeouts in his last two outings in just 12 innings pitched. Oakland is striking out at a bloated 27.6% against righties in the last month. That's the worst mark in the majors. Marsh is my first click on DK and a great play even when only using one pitcher on FanDuel.

Also consider: Framber Valdez at CWS; Chris Bassitt vs. BOS; Walker Buehler at COL

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Royce Lewis – 3B, MIN vs. Aaron Civale ($6.2K DK; $4.3K FD)

For those of you who thought Lewis would slow down... you were wrong. He has three homers in his last four games. Lewis has eight hits overall in that span with half of them going for extra bases. He'll slow down one of these days. Unfortunately, he can't hit .390, slug a home run every six at-bats, and drive in a run every game forever. That said, he excels against cutters and curves, so it could be a long day for Civale.

Freddie Freeman – 1B, LAD vs. Austin Gomber ($6.3K DK; $4.1K FD)

Surprisingly, Gomber has only allowed three home runs to the Dodgers in his career. Freeman has two of them. Freeman is 6-for-11 lifetime against Gomber with a 1.182 SLG. On top of that, he is a career .303 hitter at Coors with nine homers and 33 RBI in 50 games.

Ernie Clement – 3B, TOR vs. Tanner Houck ($2.5K DK; $2.2K FD)

We need some value if we're spending on Freeman and Royce. That could come from Clement. He has five hits in the last two games with a homer and two RBI. He also has four multi-hit games in his last five starts. With Cavan Biggio jettisoned to L.A. and Justin Turner in a slump, the Jays need Clement's offense. I expect him in the lineup until someone proves they can get him out.

Also consider: Gunnar Henderson, Andrew Vaughn, Paul DeJong

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Heliot Ramos – OF, SF vs. Justin Steele ($4.3K DK; $3.9K FD)

Ramos has seven of his nine homers in the season in June and has driven in 18 runs. That's more than one per game if you're keeping score at home. It's going to be warm and windy in Wrigley today with a lefty on the mound. You can't set up Ramos any better than this!

J.D. Martinez - OF, NYM vs. Michael Lorenzen ($4.2K DK; $3.4K FD)

It took a bit, but Martinez is finally hitting in his new home. Ironically, Martinez had his five-game RBI streak snapped last night in a game in which his team scored 14 runs. His six-game hit streak is still intact though. J.D. is 10-for-22 during that streak with three homers, nine RBI, and four runs scored. He has even walked six times to increase his value even more. The Mets' offense is cooking right now. I'm making sure I have at least one piece of it.

Jarred Kelenic – OF, ATL vs. Casey Mize ($3.2K DK; $2.7K FD)

The absence of Ronald Acuna Jr. has left a crater in the lineup, particularly in the leadoff spot. The 24-year-old former top prospect for the Mariners has filled in nicely. He has a modest five-game hitting streak going with two homers, three RBI, three runs scored, and a steal in that span. The Braves aren't as potent, but Kelenic is still cheap and sitting atop a potent lineup against a horrible bullpen and an average starter on the bump.

Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Teoscar Hernandez, Yordan Alvarez, Harrison Bader

2. Brewers vs. Griffin Canning

3. Twins vs. Aaron Civale
