We are back with more fantasy baseball rankings to help you build those rosters for the championship run with Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of August 8, 2024.
These rankings are released in August, as Nick provides his rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. Let's see where players like Ketel Marte, Spencer Schwellenbach, Junior Caminero, Jacob deGrom, Coby Mayo, Kyle Tucker, Juan Yepez, Ben Joyce, and Deyvison De Los Santos currently rank. All of them have been performing well recently, struggling, returning from injury, or recently changed teams.
Some players are off to a great start in the second half, while some have struggled mightily. Which trends do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who continue to struggle, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 21 Notes
We recently saw top prospects, such as Coby Mayo and Adrian Del Castillo, promoted to the big leagues. Mayo has yet to collect a hit and is 0-for-13 over his first five games while striking out a whopping eight times. Del Castillo was promoted from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday to replace Gabriel Moreno, who landed on the injured list. The 24-year-old went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk in his MLB debut. Other top prospects, such as Junior Caminero, Deyvison De Los Santos, Dylan Crews, and Kyle Manzardo, patiently wait for the call to the show.
Ketel Marte is having a career year and continues to swing a hot bat. The 30-year-old is slashing .324/.390/.811 with six home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs, and four walks over his last nine games. Marte is hitting .298 with 29 home runs, 80 RBI, 79 runs, and six stolen bases across 426 at-bats in 2024. Atlanta Braves rookie Spencer Schewellenbach has posted a 2.67 ERA, 0.70 ERA, and 10.7 K/9 over 27 innings in his previous four starts. The 24-year-old has racked up double-digit strikeouts in back-to-back appearances.
Injuries continue to pile up. Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan exited Wednesday's start early with an injured right triceps. He will undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his injury. Texas Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer landed on the injured list with arm fatigue. Some injury updates to be aware of include Houston Astros star outfielder Kyle Tucker, who has been sidelined since early June and is still unable to sprint. It's still unclear when Tucker will return as he recovers from a right shin contusion. Texas Rangers and former New York Met ace Jacob deGrom will throw a live batting practice session and trending in the right direction on returning before the end of the season.
Some notable performances include Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux, who has finally turned things around since struggling at the beginning of the season. The 26-year-old has been on fire recently, slashing .400/.511/.571 with a home run, seven RBI, and six runs over his last 12 games. Tommy Pham was traded to the Cardinals during the deadline and has been on fire since joining his old team. The veteran is hitting .379 (11-for-29) with two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs across his last eight games. Minnesota Twins rookie David Festa owns a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and a 15:3 K: BB across 10 innings in his previous two starts.
