Shohei Ohtani Out-Dueled Tuesday Despite Milestone
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani hit another milestone Tuesday but took the loss in a 3-1 game against the Astros. Ohtani pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits (including a two-run home run) and two walks with seven strikeouts. He passed Babe Ruth on the all-time strikeout list, but unfortunately could not celebrate with a win, as Framber Valdez was excellent on the other side. The two-way star has been solid to start the season, going 4-1 with a 2.74 ERA and 12.91 K/9 rate while slashing .294/.362/.515 with seven home runs, 22 RBI, and five stolen bases. His next start should come next week at the Orioles.
