Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings - Fantasy Baseball Pickups Include Jake Burger, Taj Bradley, Gavin Stone, Miguel Castro, more

Jake Burger - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB News, Draft Sleepers, Wavier Wire Pickups

Fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings for Week 9 of the 2023 MLB season. These are free agent options to add off waivers, and our rankings will help you prioritize.

Welcome back RotoBallers, to our fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings for Week 9 - May 22nd through May 28th. We are more than halfway through May, and some of the top prospects are starting to get all called up and delivering for fantasy managers right off the bat. Matt McLain, Matthew Liberatore, and Mark Vientos were promoted to the big leagues recently while Taj Bradley, Gavin Stone, and Edouard Julien will have another shot in the majors after being sent down earlier in the season.

Fantasy managers might have some injured stars return soon, such as Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (abdomen), who is set to return in Week 9. Texas Rangers ace Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Cleveland Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie (shoulder) are still a few weeks away from returning to action. Notable injury notes include Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias (hamstring) landing on the 15-day injured list and San Diego Padres star third baseman Manny Machado (hand) placed on the 10-day IL. Other injuries to monitor include Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (calf) and Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India (knee), both considered day-to-day. The ball is flying out of the yard as offenses are heating up. We are here to help sort it all out with our latest waiver wire rankings article.

This week's waiver wire rankings feature players such as Josh Naylor, Matt McLain, Matthew Liberatore, Mark Vientos, Edouard Julien, Jake Burger, Elly De La Cruz, Lance McCullers Jr., Miguel Castro, Dominic Fletcher, Taj Bradley, Gavin Stone, and Michael Kopech rank, among others. We have also expanded our waiver wire list from the top 60 to 80 players for the week. Read more to see where these players rank in the waiver wire rankings for Week 9.

Week 9 Waiver Wire Roundup for Fantasy Baseball

Just like any other week, we have put together a full assortment of fantasy baseball waiver wire articles. You can see that full roundup below to help prepare you for Sunday night's waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

For those who are not familiar, our team's fantasy baseball waiver wire articles get published on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays each week. First up is our closers and saves waiver wire report by David Marcillo, followed by our two-start pitcher streamers article by Pranav Uppalapati, released late each week to give you a head start on the week ahead.

For you premium subscribers, you get our overall waiver wire article, compliments of Nick Mariano. These will give you a solid overview of the waiver wire options. RotoBaller's resident points league guru Nick Gaut brings you his weekly points league pickups for hitters.

In addition to these articles, we also dig deeper for each position with individual waiver wire articles: starting pitcher pickups, outfield pickups, 2B and SS pickups, 1B and 3B pickups, deep fantasy hitter pickups, and players to consider dropping.

Who To Pickup for Fantasy Baseball Week 9?

Are you looking for a more direct and structured list of prioritized players to add off the waiver wire? This article is the final piece of the weekly waiver wire pickups series, and its goal is to show you our weekly ranking for the relevant waiver wire pickup options, including how to prioritize them for your league (depending on the league size).

So below, you will find the overall rankings list, and below that, each individual position in priority order. Hopefully, this helps you win your waiver wire this week!
