Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers
Clarke Schmidt (30% Rostered), New York Yankees
Scheduled Starts: @ BOS, @ PIT
While he's teetered at certain points this season, Clarke Schmidt has ultimately been one of the more stable players on this New York Yankees team.
He's also amid a solid stretch of pitching, with a 3.43 xFIP and 25.5% strikeout rate in his last seven starts. While a start against a Red Sox offense that ranks third in scoring this season warrants concern, Schmidt holds a 2.87 ERA in three starts against Beantown. Pittsburgh can inflict damage, but Clarke Schmidt should do well against baseball's 27th-ranked scoring offense.
Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks
Brady Singer (39% Rostered), Kansas City Royals
Scheduled Starts: @ CHW, vs. HOU
Brady Singer has remained untrustworthy as a streamer this season, with a 5.01 xERA, 4.43 SIERA, 19.5% strikeout rate, and 1.42 WHIP through 27 starts. A matchup against a Houston offense that ranks first in scoring since August 9 should remove Singer from consideration this week.
Jordan Wicks (39% Rostered), Chicago Cubs
Scheduled Starts: @ COL, @ ARZ
Jordan Wicks and his 2.16 ERA look mighty lustrous, but it's all smoke and mirrors. He holds a 4.36 SIERA, 19.1% strikeout rate, and 74 Stuff+ grade through three starts since his call-up. While those numbers aren't terrible, they're simply not good enough to stream. His first start in Coors Field only corrodes his appeal; avert Wicks this week.
James Paxton (36% Rostered), Boston Red Sox
Scheduled Starts: vs NYY, @ TOR
James Paxton's stellar 2023 season has fallen apart at the seams. The 34-year-old holds a 7.62 ERA, 7.65 FIP, and 5.25 SIERA in his last six starts. In his latest showing, he couldn't make it out of the second inning against the Kansas City Royals after allowing six runs to the first 10 batters he faced.
There won't be much peril in his start against the Yankees. However, his second start against a Blue Jays offense that ranks seventh in scoring this month could be enough to derail your entire fantasy season.
Jose Quintana (30% Rostered), New York Mets
Scheduled Starts: vs. ARZ, @ STL
With a 3.00 ERA through nine starts since his return from a rib injury, Jose Quintana looks incredibly undervalued at 30% rostered. But with a 5.14 SIERA and 17.7% strikeout rate, Quintana may even be overvalued at this rate. Arizona has picked its offense back up, marking this week as unsafe territory for those interested in Jose Quintana.
Edward Cabrera (27% Rostered), Boston Red Sox
Scheduled Starts: @ MIL, vs. ATL
While his new role as a bulk reliever may look appealing in fantasy, it isn't the right week to deploy Edward Cabrera. His second start against the Atlanta Braves looms large, and it should be enough to leave Cabrera on the wires.
Josiah Gray (24% Rostered), Washington Nationals
Scheduled Starts: @ PIT, @ MIL
The wheels have fallen off for Josiah Gray, with an 8.49 ERA, 7.00 xFIP, and 18.4% walk rate in his last six starts. The only avenue for consideration from here on out is if the 25-year-old's matchups are disturbingly easy. While they aren't world-beaters, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee are among the better offenses in the league. Don't even think about streaming Gray this week.
Kutter Crawford (19% Rostered), Boston Red Sox
Scheduled Starts: vs. NYY, @ TOR
Much like aforementioned rotation-mate James Paxton, Kutter Crawford's 2023 season has crumbled over the past month. He holds a 6.75 ERA, 5.56 xFIP, and 1.42 WHIP in his last six starts. While he held his own for much of the season, be wary of his second start against a Blue Jays offense. Especially with superstar Bo Bichette back in the fold.
Zack Littell (13% Rostered), Tampa Bay Rays
Scheduled Starts: @ MIN, @ BAL
After a promising initial run as a starting pitcher, Zack Littell has been brought back down to Earth with a 4.88 ERA, 5.13 xFIP, and 15% strikeout rate in his last four starts. The division-leading Twins and Orioles are difficult matchups, making Littell an incredibly risky start this week.
