Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Monday, October 16, 2023. The 2023 MLB postseason is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.
On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Zack Wheeler LESS than 4.0 hits allowed
This is the top prop on the PrizePicks Optimizer with a 54.13% chance of success. Wheeler has allowed more than four hits in just two of his previous five starts. He is also fresh off a 6 1/3 inning performance against the Braves in which he allowed just three hits. The odds on less than 3.5 hits allowed across the books come in around +107, so there is also some value in getting 4.0.
Framber Valdez MORE than 5.0 strikeouts
Framber Valdez has struck out five or more batters in eight of his previous nine starts. He will be up against a Rangers offense that has posted a 29% K rate vs. left-handers over the previous three weeks while also posting just a 41 wRC+ mark. Valdez will also be at home in this one where he has posted a 3.45 ERA and 9.4 K/9 mark, both of which are better than his road splits.
Zac Gallen MORE than 4.5 hits allowed
Zac Gallen is going into extremely hostile territory and that has not worked out very well for him in 2023 as he has posted a 4.42 ERA on the road. He will be up against a Phillies offense that has scored 20 runs over their previous four postseason games. Gallen has also allowed five or more hits in six of his previous eight starts, including both of his postseason starts.
