Zack Wheeler Stretched Out In Victory

While he pitched just 6 1/3 innings Tuesday night at Citi Field, New York Mets starter Zack Wheeler threw 116 pitcher, a rare feat in the modern game. The 29-year-old allowed just two runs on five hits, but exited the game trailing as his offense was stymied by the opposing pitcher. Ultimately his offense came back to secure the win, but Wheeler would pick up a no-decision. He continues to pitch well as his name runs rampant in trade rumors. Across his last three starts, Wheeler has allowed just four runs on 12 hits in 19 innings of work.
