Zack Wheeler Has Career Game In Flushing
6 years agoNew York Mets starter Zack Wheeler may never replicate the performance he had Tuesday night at Citi Field against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 28-year-old did it all as the Mets blanked Philly, 9-0. Wheeler went seven shutout frames, allowing just five hits while also striking out 11, his most in a game since 2013. His performance on the mound was just the beginning of the story, as he delivered his first career home run, also doubling in the game's first runs as he drove in three altogether. In short, it was just about the perfect performance as he did most of the work that resulted in the win.
