Zack Wheeler Earns First Win in Nearly a Month on Wednesday
5 years agoAfter going 0-1 over his last four starts, New York Mets starter Zack Wheeler snapped the winless streak with his 10th win of the year on Wednesday against the Nationals. Wheeler allowed one run on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings to secure the win. After a three-start stretch that saw Wheeler post a 7.31 ERA over 16 innings of work, he has now allowed just two runs over his last two starts to lower his season ERA to 4.33. While he hasn't been racking up many strikeouts over his last few starts, Wheeler is looking like he could be turning things around, but he'll be put to the test in his next start where he's projected to take on a Diamondbacks offense averaging 5.5 runs per game over their last 10 games.
