Zack Greinke Dominates Mariners, Nearly Tosses No-Hitter

Houston Astros pitcher Zack Greinke took a no-hitter into the ninth inning of Wednesday's game against the Mariners. It was broken up by an Austin Nola single with one out in the ninth. Still, Greinke was exceptional in the game, ending up with a final line of 8 1/3 innings, zero runs, two hits, one walk and nine strikeouts. Greinke raps up his season with an 18-5 record, 2.93 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 187 strikeouts and just 30 walks over 208.2 innings. The veteran turns 36 in October, which should scare some drafters away next year. However, after seeing what Greinke's teammate Justin Verlander did in an age 36 season, it might be wise to target Greinke amongst the top 15 pitchers in drafts next spring.
