Zach Plesac To Throw Another Bullpen Thursday
3 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Zach Plesac (thumb), who is recovering from a broken right thumb, is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on Thursday when the team opens a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins. As long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, Plesac could rejoin the starting rotation sometime in July. The Tribe could really use him back, as their entire Opening Day rotation is either on the injured list or in the minor leagues right now. The 26-year-old right-hander broke his thumb back in late May, but before that he managed to go 4-3 with a 4.14 ERA and 1.02 WHIP while striking out 38 and walking 12 in 10 starts over 58 2/3 frames. Plesac doesn't have a very high fantasy ceiling because of his career 7.2 K/9, but he'll be worth considering in deeper leagues if you could use some rotation help when he returns.
