4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Zach Plesac tossed five innings on Thursday, the longest any Cleveland starter has gone this spring, allowing four hits and one run while fanning four batters. It's been an up-and-down spring so far for Plesac, though he was able to adjust against the swing-heavy Cubs on Thursday, moving away from his fastball to throw more curveballs and changeups. "With the guys hunting heaters, the changeup really kept them honest," said Plesac. His in-game adjustment was very similar to a season-long commitment he made last year to throw his fastball far less and rely on a filthy slider/changeup combination, resulting in a career-best 36.9 percent chase rate and 57:8 K:BB ratio. Plesac is currently going off the board at pick 77 as an upside starter.--Tim Capurso
