Zach Johnson Crumbles During His Weekend at Carnoustie
6 years agoZach Johnson held a share of the lead with Kevin Kisner going into Saturday's round at Carnoustie. Unfortunately for the former Open Champion, weekend rounds of 72 and 74, respectively, dropped him out of first place and eventually into a share of 17th place. Johnson has had a magnificent run at Open Championship venues as of late, making 12 consecutive cuts and providing eight top-20 finishes. His victory at the 2015 Open Championship held at St. Andrews was captured in a playoff over Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen. When Johnson finds a venue he likes or a style of golf that suits his game, he has always been the type of player to succeed every year at those events. Make sure to keep an eye on Johnson's course history whenever he tees it up. It usually will tell you a lot about what kind of performance you should be expecting from the American.
