Zach Hyman Signs With Oilers
3 years agoThe Edmonton Oilers and unrestricted free agent forward Zach Hyman have agreed on a seven-year contract worth $38.5 million. The pact will carry a $5.5 million AAV. The 29-year-old forward spent his entire six-year NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's played mostly a complementary role in the past and scored 15 goals with 33 total points in 43 games last year. In the two years prior, though, he scored 21 goals each season. Hyman is also a strong defensive player and had a +/- of 19 last year. His larger contract will come with higher expectations but he'll also be playing with two of the top players in the game in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Hyman will likely become a highly sought-after fantasy commodity capable of at least 20 goals and 40+ points.
