Zach Britton Strikes Out Side in Rehab Outing
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton (Achilles) struck out the side in his High-A rehab assignment. Britton threw 17 pitches (11 for strikes) and gave up just an infield single outside of the three strikeouts. Britton was sitting at 92-94 mph with his fastball and actually threw more pitches in the bullpen after his inning was complete. Britton will be re-evaluated after a few more outings. Although it was just High-A, it was an encouraging outing for Britton, who is getting closer to a return. When he returns, interim closer Brad Brach will return to setup duty, meaning he'll lose a lot of his fantasy value.
