Zac Gallen Expected To Start Saturday Vs. The Cubs
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen (hamstring) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list and start Saturday's game against the Cubs. He was placed on the IL on July 2 after tweaking his hamstring. The 25-year-old made a quick recovery and will return from the injured list for the second time this season. Gallen owns a (1-4) record along with a 4.17 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 49:21 K: BB across 41 innings in 2021. He reportedly expects his pitch count to be in a relatively normal range, unlike the last time he returned from an injury. "That's the big thing," Gallen said. "That's kind of what I was kind of most worried about. But they said it's more like an extended All-Star break. I don't think the pitch count will be crushed too much. It should be fairly close to normal." Gallen is a strong option for Saturday's main slate, and fantasy managers should ensure he is starting on Saturday before activating him into their lineups.
