Yusei Kikuchi Has Start Pushed Back
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi (illness) had Sunday's scheduled start pushed back due to an illness. Kikuchi was reportedly feeling under the weather over the past couple of days, so the Mariners opted to be cautious and push his next outing to Monday against the Oakland Athletics. The southpaw has some relatively alarming underlying metrics, particularly his hard-hit rate and expected slugging percentage against, though he's certainly able to provide strikeouts in bunches, given his career-high 26.4 percent K rate. Kikuchi has pitched to a 2.73 ERA in 33 career innings against the Athletics.
