Yusei Kikuchi Dominates In No Decision
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi allowed three hits and one walk through six shutout innings against the Athletics on Saturday. After a disastrous first start against the Astros, Kikuchi looked dominant in this start, got his walk problems under control and even struck out nine batters. As impressive as this start was, fantasy owners should temper expectations moving forward. Though Kikuchi isn't as good as he pitched tonight, he also isn't as bad as he pitched against the Astros and lands somewhere in the middle. Due to the lack of run support that the Mariners provide and his MLB track record so far, Kikuchi remains a low-to-mid level fantasy option. His next start is scheduled for Thursday against the Angels and he may be an upside play is Mike Trout is still out of their lineup.
