Yoshinobu Yamamoto Is Where Mets' Focus Lies
12 months agoThe New York Mets are concentrating on a deal with free-agent starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and are seemingly less involved with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani now. The Mets haven't been told they are out of the Ohtani sweepstakes, but their attention is being shifted to Yamamoto and other starting pitchers, such as Jordan Montgomery, Blake Snell, and Eduardo Rodriguez. Yamamoto, the top-ranked Japanese free-agent arm this winter, is expected to command a deal around $200 million as he makes the transition overseas.
