Yordan Alvarez The Odd Man Out In Game 3
5 years agoHouston Astros rookie outfielder Yordan Alvarez is not in the starting lineup for Game 3 of the World Series against the Nationals on the road with the designated hitter no longer in play. Josh Reddick will stick in right field and will hit seventh on Friday against Nationals starter Anibal Sanchez. Alvarez took the league by storm when he was initially called up, but he's being exposed in the postseason with his aggressive approach. He does have three hits in six World Series at-bats, but he's 10-for-47 (.213) for the playoffs as a whole with one RBI, five walks and 21 strikeouts. He still has a lot to learn, especially in these crucial high-intensity games. There's a chance he doesn't play at all if the series goes all three games in D.C.
