Yonny Chirinos With Another Short But Great Outing
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos continued his strong production in short outings Wednesday versus the White Sox. He went 5 1/3 innings without allowing a run. Chirinos also struck out five. He now has gone 14 1/3 innings in 2018 without allowing a run. Each time out, he has gone a bit longer in terms of outs recorded. Chirinos was named the Rays 2017 minor league pitcher of the year, so he comes with some talent. The award is also notable for the fact he beat out Brent Honeywell. Chirinos could become an interesting factor in fairly deep leagues if he gets regular starts.
