2 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Jalen Beeks will serve as the opener on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles, while right-hander Yonny Chirinos will serve in the bulk role. Chirinos made his first start of the season last weekend and allowed three runs on three hits while walking four in 5 1/3 innings against the New York Yankees. But the 29-year-old entered that outing with a pristine 0.64 ERA and 0.57 WHIP in 14 relief innings, so he's pitched great for the most part in 2023. The Rays will likely continue to use Chirinos in both roles as the season progresses. He'll obviously be more attractive as a streamer on Wednesday than Beeks, but it's also not the greatest of matchups.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
