Yoniel Curet Continues To Dominate High-A
4 months agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitching prospect Yoniel Curet tossed another stellar outing on Thursday evening. He pitched five shutout frames with seven punchouts. He allowed just two hits and four walks. Curet has not allowed an earned run in his past three starts and has been remarkable since surrendering seven earned runs on June 5. Since that outing, the 21-year-old has held a 0.30 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 13:38 BB:K ratio. Last summer at High-A the right-hander posted a 4.56 ERA and 1.52 WHIP but now holds a much improved 3.69 ERA and 1.31 WHIP this season that continues to drop. Curet is a budding star within the Rays system and is a name to keep a close eye on when he moves up to Double-A.
