Yoan Moncada Dealing With Hip/Groin Injury
8 months agoChicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said that third baseman Yoan Moncada (hip, groin) is dealing with a nagging hip/adductor injury for the last three to four days, but the skipper said he doesn't expect the injury to keep Moncada out of the lineup. "He's doing a really good job maintaining it," Grifol said. The White Sox can ill-afford anymore injuries to key players with Eloy Jimenez (groin) and Luis Robert Jr. (hip) already on the injured list. The 28-year-old Moncada has had his fair share of injuries over the years, too, but he remains in the lineup at third base while batting second on Tuesday against Cleveland Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. The Cuban switch-hitter is hitting .270 (10-for-37) in the early going, but he hasn't hit a home run or driven in a run yet in 10 contests.
