Yimi Garcia Saves Wednesday's Game
4 years agoMiami Marlins closer Yimi Garcia earned a save, his fourth of the season, in Wednesday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Garcia was called upon for one of the easier saves of the season, coming into the ninth inning of a 3-0 game. He made it look even easier than that though, tossing just 10 pitches while recording one strikeout. Garcia lowered his ERA to 0.87 and has been outright excellent since ascending to the closer's role. With Don Mattingly still mentioning how much he "believes in" Anthony Bass, it's hard to say how safe Garcia's job is, but it may cause a riot if Mattingly pulls Garcia at this point.
