Yasmani Grandal Will Decline His Option
5 years agoAs expected, Milwaukee Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal will decline his $16 million option for the 2020 season and take a $2.25 million buyout to become a free agent. Grandal bet on himself in 2019, and the move paid off, as he hit .246/.380/.468 with a career-high 28 long balls, 77 RBI and even five stolen bases in 153 games for the Brew Crew. He has managed 20-plus home runs in every season since 2016 and has become one of the more power-friendly options at a barren catching position. Where he signs on a multi-year deal this offseason will determine the ceiling of his fantasy value, but Grandal should be attractive to fantasy owners no matter where he goes.
