Yasmani Grandal Leaves With Tight Hamstring
2 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (hamstring) left the team's game early on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals in the fourth inning with a tight right hamstring. Grandal came out of the game after running out a single. We'll know more on the condition of the 34-year-old backstop after the game, but this is certainly an injury that could send Grandal to the injured list. Before leaving, he was 2-for-2 to raise his season average to .270. Grandal was replaced behind the dish by Seby Zavala. Entering Thursday's contest, Grandal was slashing .257/.339/.407 with eight doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 127 plate appearances over 34 games. If Grandal goes on the injured list, Zavala would see most of the starts behind the dish for Chicago.
