Yankees Sign Jhoulys Chacin, Tyler Lyons, Socrates Brito
4 years agoThe New York Yankees signed right-hander Jhoulys Chacin, left-hander Tyler Lyons and outfielder Socrates Brito to minor league deals on Sunday. Chacin has 12 major league seasons under his belt and has thrown 1,324 innings, including 226 starts. The 33-year-old has a 6.06 ERA (75 ERA+) in 108 1/3 innings with the Brewers, Red Sox and Braves the last two seasons. But he had a 3.86 ERA (112 ERA+) from 2009-18 with the Rockies, Diamondbacks, Braves, Angels, Padres and Brewers. The 32-year-old Lyons has a lifetime 4.30 ERA in 162 outings (20 starts) for the Cardinals, Pirates and Yankees. Brito has put up a slash line of just .179/.216/.309 with five home runs in 218 career plate appearances for the Diamondbacks and Blue jays, but the 28-year-old has blazing speed and can play all three outfield positions.
