Yankees Put Josh Donaldson On 10-Day Injured List
2 years agoThe New York Yankees placed infielder Josh Donaldson (calf) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a right-calf strain and recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Donaldson was set to undergo an MRI exam after tweaking his injured right calf on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies, and now he'll need to take some more time off. The 37-year-old does have 10 home runs in only 106 at-bats in 2023, but he's had a tough go of it offensively otherwise. In 33 games played, the former MVP is hitting just .142/.225/.434 with a double, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored in 120 plate appearances. DJ LeMahieu should continue to see most of the starts at the hot corner for the Yankees.

Josh Donaldson Wants To Play In 2024
1 year agoFree-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson said in an interview with the Score's Josh Wegman Monday that he would like to play one more season. The 38-year-old dealt with a number of injuries in 2023 and was released by the Yankees, although he did sign with the Brewers and made their playoff roster. Donaldson finished the regular season with a .152/.249/.418 slash line, 13 home runs, and 26 RBI in 189 plate appearances. Whether he ends up playing this season or not, Donaldson has put together a solid career and was always a power threat for fantasy with a .261/.358/.489 career slash line, 279 HR, and 816 RBI while playing for seven different teams.

Brewers Bring Up Josh Donaldson
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers selected the contract of third baseman Josh Donaldson from Triple-A Nashville on Monday and optioned infielder Owen Miller to Nashville in a corresponding move. The team also moved right-hander J.C. Mejia (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list. In five games with Nashville, the former MVP went 3-for-17 with two home runs. The 37-year-old veteran might provide a little pop in part-time duty at the hot corner in Milwaukee down the stretch while sharing time with Andruw Monasterio. The three-time All-Star hit just .142 (15-for-106) with 10 home runs and 15 RBI in 33 games with the New York Yankees this year before he was cut.

Brewers Sign Josh Donaldson To Minor-League Deal
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers announced on Thursday that they signed free-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) to a minor-league deal. He will report to Triple-A Nashville. The New York Yankees recently released Donaldson, who has been out with a right-calf strain since the middle of July. On top of injuries, the 37-year-old former MVP has looked overmatched at the plate, hitting just .142 (15-for-106) this year with 10 home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored in his time in the Bronx in 2023. He'll need to get healthy first and then prove himself before the Brewers consider him an option at third base late in the season. For now, Donaldson remains off the fantasy radar in all mixed leagues.

Yankees Release Josh Donaldson
2 years agoThe New York Yankees released infielder Josh Donaldson prior to their game on Tuesday night. It's been a disastrous year for the former MVP in his second year in the Bronx. He's been out with a calf injury since the middle of July due to a right-calf strain, and he wasn't very productive at all when he was on the field for the Yankees, hitting .142 (15-for-106) with 10 home runs, a double, 15 RBI, 32 strikeouts and 13 runs scored in 120 trips to the plate over 33 games played. The 37-year-old wasn't much better last year, either, batting .222 (106-for-478) with 15 homers and 148 strikeouts in 546 plate appearances. Donaldson will reach free agency a bit early in 2023, and it's looking like he doesn't have much left in the tank in his career.
