Yankees Pursuing Josh Hader
5 years agoThe New York Yankees "have been the most active pursuer" of Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader. The Brewers are willing to listen to offers on Hader this winter, but it would take an offer Milwaukee couldn't refuse for them to part ways with the most dominant left-handed reliever in baseball the last few seasons. He does have a bunch of mileage on his arm for a reliever (204 2/3 frames in three seasons), but Hader also has an excellent 2.42 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and ridiculous 15.3 K/9 in his three years with the Brew Crew. Hader picked up a career-high 37 saves for Milwaukee in 2019 and will be an elite fantasy closer if he stays with the Brewers. If he lands with the Yanks in a trade, it would be very interesting to see how the Bombers used both he and Aroldis Chapman in the late innings, but Hader would most likely be more of a setup arm.
