Yankees Interested In Jesus Luzardo
10 months agoThe New York Yankees have interest in trading for Miami Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo, according to a team source. Luzardo is under team control for three more years, so he's going to cost a lot, and the Marlins would likely ask for Yankees' No. 1 prospect, Spencer Jones, in any deal for Luzardo. Miami could also be interested in Oswald Peraza, as they need a shortstop. The Fish could also want to keep Luzardo around, as former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara (elbow) will miss all of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Youngster Eury Perez will likely be on an innings limit. The Marlins need Luzardo in their starting rotation, so they might have to be blown away by a trade offer to even consider shipping him away this offseason. In 2023, Luzardo went 10-10 with a 3.58 ERA (3.55 FIP), 1.21 WHIP and a career-high 208 strikeouts in 32 starts (178 2/3 innings).
