Yankees Interested In Andrew McCutchen
6 years agoThe New York Yankees are on the hunt for an outfielder, and it seems like a former National League MVP is on the radar. According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Yanks have "soft interest" in the San Francisco Giants' Andrew McCutchen. The Yankees have been linked to multiple outfielders since the injuries to Clint Frazier (migraines) and Aaron Judge (wrist), and McCutchen is the latest name after the Giants reportedly have fielded offers for him. The 31-year-old outfielder is hitting .258 this year with 10 home runs, but his current contract (on the last year of a seven year, $65.25 million contract) presents a hurdle. It also wouldn't be certain that McCutchen would accept a depth position with the Yankees, which is more of what they're looking for. At this point it looks like the Bombers are just doing their due diligence, so stay tuned for more updates.
