Yankees Call Up Estevan Florial, Albert Abreu
3 years agoThe New York Yankees have called up outfielder Estevan Florial and pitcher Albert Abreu from Triple-A. The call-ups are in response to the team placing both Corey Kluber (shoulder) and Luke Voit (oblique) on the 10-day injured list. Abreu will work out of the bullpen for the team, while Florial could see a decent amount of playing time due to the multitude of injuries the team has sustained in the outfield. Florial has a .203/.295/.536 slash line over 17 games split between Double-A and Triple-A this year. He made his MLB debut back in 2020, appearing in just one game and going 1-for-3 with a single and two strikeouts. He's worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers in deep leagues and AL-only leagues. If he can produce for the Yankees, he may wrestle playing time away from Brett Gardner or Clint Frazier.
