Yankees Acquire A.J. Cole From Nationals
7 years agoAfter Monday night’s massive 14-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins, the New York Yankees made a move with their bullpen in mind. The club acquired right-hander A.J. Cole from the Washington Nationals after that club designated him for assignment. The Yankees immediately added him to both the 40-man roster and the 25-man roster, assuring his place with the club as soon as Tuesday. Cole is coming off a season that saw him post a 3.81 ERA in 11 games, making eight starts and three relief appearances. This season, the 26-year-old has also split time as a reliever and starter, although it seems safe to assume that the Yankees will use him as a reliever.
