6 years agoThe San Francisco Giants designated infielder/outfielder Yangervis Solarte for assignment on Tuesday. Second baseman Donovan Solano was among the players that were called up from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. The switch-hitting Solarte was playing sporadically with the Giants and hit just .205/.247/.315 with a homer and seven RBI in 73 at-bats. He could latch on with or be traded to another team, but he's unlikely to be fantasy relevant. Solano hasn't had much success in the big leagues in the past and will probably just be a bench player in San Fran, limiting his fantasy appeal significantly.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
