Yandy Diaz Being Held Out On Sunday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Yandy Diaz (forearm) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against right-hander Jordan Lyles and the Baltimore Orioles. He was hit in his forearm by a pitch from Orioles closer Jorge Lopez during the ninth inning of Saturday's game. All indications after the game were that Diaz would be okay, so he's likely just being held out on Sunday as a precaution. Diaz will go into the All-Star break with a strong .294 batting average, but he's only managed three home runs over 83 games. Josh Lowe will be leading off for Sunday's contest with Isaac Paredes manning the hot corner.
