7 months agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy had two catches for 47 yards and a touchdown in the 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. The first-round rookie wasted no time making his mark in this game as he had a 21-yard touchdown rush on the Chiefs first drive. Worthy scored his second touchdown on a 35-yard strike from Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter. The rookie with record-breaking speed had 68 total yards and two touchdowns on just three touches in this contest. It was an exciting start to Worthy's career, and fantasy managers should be hopeful for his future in the Kansas City offense. Worthy and the Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. The Bengals allowed the sixth-most receiving yards to opposing wide receivers in 2023, so Worthy could be in for another big game. Worthy will likely have to compete with another receiver, Marquise Brown, in Week 2, but the rookie should see his whole in the offense expand as the season goes on. Worthy should be considered a high-upside flex play moving forward.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested in Williamson County, Texas on Friday night. Worthy was charged with assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, according to the official booking. There isn't much more information available at the time, although the charges don't look great for the young star wideout at first glance. Worthy could face legal charges in court in addition to potentially being in violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.--Matt T - RotoBaller

1 month agoKansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught eight passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns in the 22-40 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Worthy was the lone bright spot for Kansas City in this contest, catching multiple 50-yard passes from Mahomes. The 21-year-old showed off his speed on the game's final touchdown, beating two safeties to the end zone for a 50-yard score. The speedy rookie led the team in catches, receiving yards, and targets. Worthy took center stage with Travis Kelce underperforming in this contest. Worthy put together one of the best Super Bowl performances by a rookie, but most of his production came well after this game was out of hand. Despite suffering this huge loss, Worthy showed that he can perform at the highest level and should be poised for more growth next season.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller

2 months agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has blossomed into the top receiver for the team in his rookie season. The Chiefs will rely on Worthy to make plays in his first Super Bowl appearance against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend. The 21-year-old caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills. Worthy received nearly twice as many targets as Travis Kelce in the biggest game of the year to that point. All signs point to the Chiefs relying on Worthy again on Sunday against one of the most formidable defenses in the league. The record-breaking speedster has demonstrated tremendous growth down the stretch and has even hauled in some highlight catches in recent weeks. Worthy is an easy play in both DFS and playoff leagues for the last game of the NFL season.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller

2 months agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills. The rookie showed up in the AFC Championship game, scoring an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Worthy led the Chiefs in catches, receiving yards, and targets in the crucial win to send Kansas City to their third-straight Super Bowl appearance. The 21-year-old has become the most reliable wide receiver for Patrick Mahomes and should be a vital piece of the game plan for the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Worthy will have to contend with the Philadelphia Eagles, who had one of the best defenses in the league this season. The Eagles lost to the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl, so they will have some extra motivation to even the score. Worthy will look to continue being a top option for Mahomes in the biggest game of his life.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller
