Xander Schauffele Seeking Back-To-Back Victories At Muirfield Village
6 months agoAfter giving up another Sunday lead and finishing runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at the Wells Fargo Championship, the narrative about Xander Schauffele not being able to close out a lead grew to a fever pitch. But the 30-year-old Tour star was quick to silence his critics with a dominant performance the following week at Valhalla, proceeding to win his first major victory at the PGA Championship. Now, fantasy managers have no reason to doubt his ability to make it back-to-back victories this week at the Memorial Tournament. Schauffele has been dominant in 2024, making every single cut and posting eight top-10 finishes in just 14 starts this calendar year. He also projects as the second-best course fit for Muirfield Village over the last 24 rounds, ranking second in weighted approach and tee-to-green play, second in scrambling, fourth in par 5 scoring, and third in bogey avoidance. He's also gained strokes putting in six consecutive measured events. Schauffele may be the one golfer who can go toe-to-toe with Scheffler again this week, but he just may emerge as the victor this time around.
