Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley Avoid Arbitration
6 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts and outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. both avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to one-year deals. Bogaerts will receive $12 million this season, while Bradley will make $8.55 million. Bogaerts is a tier below the top fantasy shortstops after hitting .288/.360/.522 with a career-high 23 long balls, 103 RBI, 72 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 136 games for Boston. He's likely to come off the board in the fifth or sixth round. Bradley is a better defensive asset than he is with the bat, and he can be as streaky as any hitter at the plate. He hit .234/.314/.403 with 13 home runs, 59 RBI, 76 runs and a career-high 17 stolen bases in 2018. Target him in the late rounds of deep mixed drafts for his wheels.
