Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (ankle) was placed on the disabled list and is expected to miss 10 to 14 days, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. An MRI revealed that Bogaerts has a small crack in the talus bone of his left ankle. He sustained the injury while chasing a foul ball into the dugout. The injury comes at a time when Bogaerts was having one of the best starts to the season, hitting .368 with seven doubles and nine RBI.
