Xander Bogaerts Has A Sore Shoulder
4 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) is dealing with a sore shoulder in camp, but manager Alex Cora doesn't think the issue will keep Bogaerts from being ready by Opening Day. The Red Sox are taking a cautious approach with their star shortstop, and he hopes to resume throwing in a few days. Bogaerts slashed .300/.364/.502 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI and eight stolen bases in 56 games in the shortened 2020 season. After two straight years of 100-plus RBI in 2018 and 2019, the 28-year-old was on pace to fall well short of that mark last year. However, the two-time All-Star was on pace to beat his career-best mark of 15 steals back in 2017. Bogaerts should provide fantasy managers with a high average and plenty of power, and he could be a top-five shortstop if he continues to run as much as he did in 2020.
