X-Rays Negative On David Price
7 years agoUpdating a previous report, X-rays on Boston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price's left wrist came up negative after he was smoked by a line drive during his start on Wednesday. The Red Sox will send him for further testing. The left-hander appears to have avoided serious injury, but he may still have to miss a start or two. Price had allowed three earned runs while walking none and fanning three in three innings on Wednesday before leaving. He's been great for fantasy owners with a 14-6 record, 3.60 ERA and 8.98 K/9 over 26 starts.

David Price Rejoins Dodgers Bullpen
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-handed relief pitcher David Price (wrist) from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned right-hander Andre Jackson to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Price has been out for almost a month with wrist inflammation, but he'll rejoin the team for the tail end of the regular season and for the start of the playoffs in October. The 37-year-old veteran southpaw's days of fantasy relevance are over, but he's still been a solid real-life piece to the Dodgers bullpen in 2022 when he's been healthy. In 38 1/3 innings over 38 appearances, he has a 2.58 ERA (3.85 FIP), a 1.17 WHIP, one save and 37 strikeouts.

David Price Throws Bullpen
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher David Price (wrist) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday. It was the first time Price has thrown off a mound since he landed on the injured list on Sept. 4 with left wrist inflammation. Despite dealing with wrist problems for a while before that, the 37-year-old southpaw has gone 2-0 with a solid 2.58 ERA (3.84 FIP), a 1.17 WHIP, one save and 37 strikeouts in 38 1/3 relief innings for the Blue this year. Barring a setback, Price expects to return from the injured list before the end of the regular season, so they should have him available as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen for the postseason.
