X-Rays Negative For James Paxton
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton's (forearm) X-rays came back negative after he was forced from his start in the first inning after taking a liner to his left arm on Tuesday. He's dealing with a left forearm contusion. It's great news for the Mariners and Paxton's fantasy owners, as he appears to have dodged a bullet here. It doesn't appear he'll have to go on the disabled list or miss a start. The southpaw has been relevant in all leagues, coming into Tuesday's outing with a 10-5 record, 3.63 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and career-high 11.3 K/9 across 23 starts.
