Jets Take Nathan Smith With 91st Overall Pick
6 years agoWith the 91st overall (third round) draft selection in Saturday's draft, the Winnipeg Jets nabbed center Nathan Smith. Smith, a native of Tampa Bay, Florida, spent his 2017-2018 season playing in the United States Hockey League for Cedar Rapids, posting 47 points (17 goals, 30 assists) to go along with 88 penalty minutes in 51 games. The 6-foot, 170-pound forward has been described as being a very good skater and someone who uses his edges well and has good skills with the puck. Smith has committed to play for Minnesota State next season and will undoubtedly spend a few seasons there before making a decision to turn pro.
