Wily Peralta Nails Down First MLB Save
6 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Wily Peralta stepped into the ninth inning against the Angels on Monday with a 2-0 lead. Peralta had never been called upon in the majors for such a thing, but he racked up a pair of strikeouts in the process of shutting down LA to notch his first ever big-league save. Peralta has mostly worked as a starter in the majors, starting 120 of the 136 games he's appeared in, but he could be looking at a whole new facet of his career. No announcement has been made, but the KC closing job is up for grabs, and Peralta can now say he's got experience.
